The Captivating Stone from Brac

Today, we embark on an exciting journey to discover the enchanting stone from the beautiful island of Brac - a gem steeped in rich history, cultural significance, and unparalleled beauty. We are also thrilled to announce our upcoming collection adorned with beads crafted from this remarkable stone.

Brac Stone is a symbol of Croatia's natural beauty and heritage.

Located off the Dalmatian coast, Brac Island boasts stunning landscapes and crystal-clear waters. Amidst this captivating island lies a unique geological marvel - Brac stone. Revered for centuries, this limestone stands out for its purity, resilience, and timeless elegance.

It is a wonderful story about the relationship between the people of Brac and the stone of Brac, which has been going on since ancient times. The people of Brac treat the stone with respect and gratitude and therefore, we are talking about picking, not mining the stone, because the people of Brac think of it as the most precious fruit gifted to us by nature. The Masonry School on the island, located in Pucisca, is the oldest such institution in Europe. This stone is extremely valued by artists because no other stone has such a texture, strength and color.

Brac stone owes its creation to the geological processes that unfolded millions of years ago. The island's mineral-rich terrain and unique composition give rise to this pristine and distinctive limestone. Its exquisite, milky white appearance, subtly textured surface, and stunning translucency make it a true gem among natural stones.

Brac stone is an integral part of Croatia's cultural heritage and has played a significant role in the country's history. From the majestic Diocletian's Palace in Split, Cathedrals in Sibenik and Trogir, and many other churches, villas and even entire promenades, Brac stone has served as a prominent building material for centuries. Its presence in historical landmarks is a testament to its durability, magnificence, and enduring value.

The Brac stone does not stop only in Croatia, whoever lived or ruled here used it for construction to represent power. It can be found in the Parliament and the New Palace in Vienna, the Parliament in Budapest, and the Governor's Palace in Trieste. The lobby of the United Nations building in New York is decorated with white Brac stone as well. There is a myth that the White House has been built with this stone, but no proof has so far been found.
